Your profile and settings

Set your photo and name, and control how the app behaves.

Open the side menu from the top-left of any main screen, then tap your name. Account and profile is mostly 'who you are'; settings is mostly 'how the app behaves and what others can see'.

Side menu — profile and settings
  • Profile photo and display name — how people recognise you in chats, events and member lists.
  • Availability — a status others can see.
  • App language — choose the language used for menus and system text in the app.
  • Privacy and visibility — control whether others can see your profile photo, how presence and availability are shown, and whether you send message read indicators.
  • Chats and safety — choose whether others may add you to chat groups, open the list of blocked users, and turn on an app lock.

The app lock is worth knowing about: with it on, Wapoka can only be opened after you unlock it with your device credentials — for example your device PIN, pattern, or biometric unlock, depending on what your phone or tablet supports.
