Privacy and your data

Which of your details are public, which are contacts-only, and where data is processed.

Below is a plain-language overview of how we use the account details most people ask about first. It is a summary, not a substitute for the Privacy Policy — open the policy at the end of this page for retention, subprocessors, and how to exercise your rights.

We tie each type of information to a specific job — who can find you, how you sign in safely, and how the product keeps working. Where something is public, that is an intentional product choice; where something is contacts only, we keep it out of open discovery flows.

Username

Your username is your public Wapoka identity. People can search for you with it, and it may appear wherever your profile is shown in the product.

Full name

Your full name is shown primarily in contexts where people already know you on Wapoka — for example among your contacts — rather than as a global discovery mechanism like your username.

Mobile number

We use your number for verification and, when needed, for security-related messages. It is not used for public discovery the way your username is. On Wapoka, your mobile number is visible only to your contacts — not to everyone.

Email

We use your email for verification, password recovery, appropriate platform-related communication, and delivering event tickets linked to your account. On Wapoka, your email is visible only to your contacts — not to everyone.

Password

Use at least eight characters and treat your password as confidential. Wapoka will never ask you to share your password — in app messages, email, or support.

Where is my data processed?

We take security seriously and restrict access to what is needed to run and protect the service. Primary hosting for users in the EU is located in Germany. Wapoka aligns its processing with EU GDPR requirements. Definitions, lawful bases, and data-subject rights are set out in the Privacy Policy.
