How your messages are protected

Your conversations are end-to-end encrypted — and what that means day to day.

Wapoka conversations are end-to-end encrypted. In plain terms: your messages are scrambled on your device and only unscrambled on the devices of the people you are talking to. Nobody in between can read them.

The keys that do the unscrambling live on your device rather than on a server. That is what makes the encryption meaningful, and it explains the one message that sometimes surprises people.
